We made a modest beginning with Bachelor of Journalism and Mass Communication course 35 years ago. The Media landscape nevertheless suddenly started changing at a brisk pace during the post-globalization period. While the Mass Communications marched in full blitzkrieg, majority of media education departments in Indian Universities continued with their hackneyed approach, even as we snatched the initiative by evolving into a research faculty to start enrolling students for Ph.D. in 1994.
A quantum leap witnessed the starting an enviable Bachelors Course in T.V., Film Production and Media Technology from the 2009-10 session to cater to the pampered passions of the youngsters with the gift of the gab, equipped with glossy infrastructure and facilities to provide a realworld ambience to our students.
With the view to enhance the contours of media education, CAMS took another leap forward by launching a three-year B.A. (Hons) Course in Journalism, Mass Communication and Media Technology in 2011.
The upgradation of Bachelors into Masters degree was felt necessary to enable the students to go in for pursuing the higher academic degree of Ph.D. As a result of this, the Centre started Master course in T.V & Film Production in the year 2013. The Centre can boast of having produced ten Ph.D. scholars with fifteen more candidates
registered for it.
